About Tech Hub

Building South Florida’s Technology Future

South Florida Tech Hub is a nonprofit council of technology leaders and practitioners committed to building a stronger, more connected technology community across South Florida.

We are not a sales organization. We are not recruiters or headhunters. We are not building this community for profit.

We are the community, working together to build the community.

Our members are the executives, technologists, entrepreneurs, engineers, educators, investors, founders, and professionals who are actually building, operating, and growing South Florida’s technology economy every day.

We come together because we believe South Florida is stronger when the people building its future know one another, collaborate across county lines, develop the next generation of talent, and create more opportunities for people to build meaningful careers here at home.

Our work starts with a simple belief:

Connect leaders.

Connect talent.

Create opportunity.

Keep talent home.

A Community Built by the People Who Power It

South Florida Tech Hub is different because the organization is not standing outside the technology ecosystem trying to sell services into it.

We are the ecosystem.

Our board, members, volunteers, speakers, mentors, and participants come from the companies, startups, universities, institutions, and communities that make up South Florida’s technology sector.

They give their time, share their expertise, open their networks, mentor others, create opportunities, and help solve problems because they care about the future of this region.

That creates something more powerful than a traditional business organization.

It creates a community with a shared stake in South Florida’s success.

When a technology executive makes an introduction for an emerging founder, when an engineer mentors a student, when an employer meets its next great hire, or when leaders from different counties begin collaborating, the entire ecosystem gets stronger.

That is what we exist to make possible.

Our Mission

South Florida Tech Hub serves as the regional connector for South Florida’s technology community.

We bring together businesses, entrepreneurs, investors, educators, public-sector leaders, students, and technology professionals to strengthen the region’s innovation economy.

Our mission is to create the relationships, programs, events, and opportunities that help companies grow, people advance their careers, and communities participate in the economic opportunities created by technology.

And because we are a nonprofit organization, our success is not measured by commissions, placements, or transactions.

Our success is measured by the strength of the community we help build.

Connecting Leaders

Strong technology ecosystems are built on relationships.

South Florida Tech Hub creates the table where those relationships begin.

We connect technology executives with entrepreneurs. Companies with universities. Investors with founders. Employers with educators. Public-sector leaders with the innovators shaping the future of their communities.

Just as importantly, we connect leaders across county lines.

Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and the Treasure Coast each have their own companies, institutions, industries, and strengths. But technology does not stop at a county border, and neither should collaboration.

We believe South Florida becomes more competitive when its leaders see themselves as part of one interconnected regional ecosystem.

Through executive gatherings, industry programs, conferences, working groups, community partnerships, and year-round convening, we help turn introductions into relationships and relationships into collaboration.

When South Florida’s leaders know one another, South Florida gets stronger.

But we are not a staffing agency.

We do not make money by placing candidates.

Our interest is bigger than any individual placement.

Connecting Talent

Companies cannot grow without people.

At the same time, talented people cannot build careers around opportunities they do not know exist.

South Florida Tech Hub works to close that gap.

We connect students, engineers, developers, technology professionals, executives, and emerging leaders with employers, mentors, peers, and opportunities throughout the region.

We want talented people to see a future for themselves in South Florida.

That means helping people understand which companies are here, what careers exist, which skills are in demand, who the leaders are, and how they can become part of the community.

Sometimes that connection leads to a job.

Sometimes it leads to a mentor, a business partner, a customer, an investor, or simply the relationship that opens the next door.

Our role is to create more of those connections.

Keeping Talent Home

For generations, talented South Floridians often believed that building a serious career in technology meant leaving home for another major technology market.

We want the next generation to see something different.

01

We want a student growing up in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, or the Treasure Coast to know that extraordinary technology careers can be built right here.

02

We want graduates from our universities to know the companies operating in their own backyard.

03

We want experienced professionals to see pathways for advancement.

04

We want entrepreneurs to believe they can build globally significant companies without leaving South Florida.

05

And we want people who leave South Florida for education or opportunity to see a region worth coming home to.

Keeping talent home is more than a workforce goal. It is a long-term economic-development strategy.

When talented people stay, they become employees, founders, executives, investors, mentors, homeowners, community leaders, and eventually employers themselves.

They hire others.
They mentor others.
They invest in others.
They create the next generation of opportunity.

That is how an ecosystem compounds.

One Region. One Technology Community.

South Florida is not one city, and South Florida Tech Hub is not built around one county.

Our community stretches across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and the Treasure Coast.

Each part of the region contributes something different: industries, universities, companies, entrepreneurs, investors, talent, infrastructure, and ideas.

Our job is to connect those pieces.

  • We want a founder in Miami to know an executive in Palm Beach.
  • We want a company in Broward to discover talent graduating from a university farther north.
  • We want leaders on the Treasure Coast connected to the broader South Florida technology economy.

And we want people throughout the region to see themselves as participants in something larger than the boundaries of their individual city or county.

We are building community across counties because the opportunity ahead of South Florida is regional.

Why South Florida?

South Florida has the ingredients to become one of the world’s great innovation regions.

We have globally connected cities, major universities and research institutions, established industries undergoing technological transformation, a growing entrepreneurial community, international connectivity, and an extraordinarily diverse population.

But ingredients alone do not create an ecosystem.

Ecosystems require connective tissue.

They require trusted relationships.

They require leaders who know one another.

They require companies that can find talent.

They require talent that can find opportunity.

They require mentors willing to help the next generation.

They require communities willing to work together rather than in isolation.

That connective infrastructure is where South Florida Tech Hub works.

We do not build the companies.
We connect the people building them.
We do not create the talent.
We connect talent to opportunity.
We do not build South Florida’s technology ecosystem alone.
We connect the people who do.

Our Vision

A globally recognized South Florida innovation ecosystem where technology companies launch, scale, and thrive; talent chooses to build careers; and collaboration drives sustainable economic growth across every community we serve.

We envision a South Florida where a student can grow up here, graduate from one of our schools or universities, begin a technology career here, grow into leadership here, launch a company here, raise a family here, and eventually create opportunities for the generation that follows.

That is how a technology community becomes sustainable.
That is how a region becomes globally competitive.
And that is what South Florida Tech Hub is working to build.

Our Commitment

South Florida Tech Hub exists to serve the community we are part of.
Diverse multiethnic Partners hands together teamwork group of multi racial people meeting join hands togetherness. Diversity people hands join empower partnership teams connection volunteer community
There is no commission behind an introduction.
There is no placement fee behind a career connection.
There is no sales quota behind bringing leaders together.

There is simply a shared belief among technology leaders and practitioners that South Florida becomes stronger when we invest in one another.

Every connection we create is intended to move the region forward: helping a company find talent, helping a professional find a career, helping a student discover a pathway, helping an entrepreneur meet a mentor, or helping leaders from different parts of South Florida collaborate on challenges too large for any one organization to solve.

Our ambition is not simply to operate a technology organization.

It is to help the technology community build itself.

By the community.

For the community.

For the future of South Florida.
